Youth Connection Invites You to Our Festive BBQ Get Together!

Hey youths,

how have you guys been doing?. Amazing, fine, not so fine?.errrm...?

Well, we've got exciting news for everyone that will boost the lowest of morales and raise the ones that are already seemingly high!

Hmm, and what's that supposed to be, you ask?.

It's a BBQ Get Together!

We're inviting you and your friends to join us for a
Festive BBQ Get Together @ Casablanca Condominium
This Saturday, 6th of November at 6pm

John,Samuel,Preeta,Sangeetha,Johnson,Jevitha,Priscilla,Naomi,Maha,Deepan and Roy and if there's one descriptive word for the movie that all of them would vouch for unanimously,it would defintely have to be Awesome!

There really isn't much else to say about the movie dubbed "The No 1 Movie in The World" is there...?

Service was such A BlAST!
We had an AWESOME time!
This is EXACTLY how youth service should be!

My oh my,how much fun we had at our Youth Service this week.We had a ball of a time in commemorating the 1st month of services at our very OWN venue!.Youth Hub @ Towner IS the place to be youths!

Our anniversary special started with an opening prayer done by our dearest older brother Chandru.Our youths,particularly Vanessa and Sangeetha,in taking his lead,followed on by enthsiastically praying for the service.Sure we had the shy ones but thats life for you my friend.We meet people from all walks of life here at our Youth Hub.It's learning to embrace the gift of life in the likes of the person next to you that forges relationships that last a lifetime.

Next up,ice breaking.We played this game that sent the youths into a frenzy.Quite literally that is.The youth leaders were surprised at how much fun and noise the youths had and made.Every one was speaking to everyone.Ice breaker indeed!.The youths had such fun that it took quite abit of coaxing to get them settled down.

We went into praise after our much delayed endeavour at calming the raging enthusiasm of our youths.This is what you get when you have a room full of youths with rejuvenated vigour and a overwhelming zest for Christ.Praise was lead by brother Chandru and should you check out how he made the youths shimmy by cha cha-ing to Isravaelin Thevanae.Hailing from a background of dance when he was younger,he is indeed a testimony for Christ in using his talents for Jesus now that he is saved.

We had another game after praising the Lord.This time,we split the males and females and had them search for items that were called out.We then had a debate over the name of the game,on whether it was the game of "I need a shoelace" or "Item Search".Credits to the team of the gentle sex.They beat the guys flat out,amassing a total of 10 items from a list of 12 whilst the guy came in second with 7.

The worhsip leaders,brother Chandru and Roy,led the youths into another time of praise and worship with a folk number and a beautiful worhip song.The youths were once again up and dancing to Yessappa Yennalum Yennakuthan and this time they were extremely spontaneous.Dancing in circles and infront of each other giving praise to the Lord God Almighty.
Roy took over leading the crowd toa intimate time of worship with Maratha Thevan and what a BEAUTIFUL sight it was!.The youths were worshipping God with their eyes closed and their hands raised towards the heaven in decalring that HE indeed is Lord,The Awesome One who guides,leads and watches over us infinitely.It was really really really spectacular to be in a room full of youths that were praising and worshipping their Creator together.

We had our time of testimonies thereafter with Priscilla Francis glorifying God that her mother whom she had been yearning and praying about for the last 5 years accepted Christ and decided to attend church.All glory and honour to Christ alone!

We had invited Brother Joshua to share in the absence of Pastor Jonathan as he was due in South Africa and Dubai.Brother Joshua is a man from the marketplace who delivers messages that are both pratical and in-depth.He also serves as our advisor.He started off by explaining the 4 Ws of a Christian meet:

Welcome
Worship
Word
Works

His sharing revolved around a beautiful youth(as he called him) named Joseph from the Bible.Joseph was a 17 year old teenager,who was sold into slavery by his own brothers because of his one unique dream. Leaving him in compulsion to grow up in the land of idolatry-Egypt.However,despite his series of unfortunate circumstances,Joseph remained a faithful believer in the Lord. Ultimately,the Lord caused Joseph's dream to be fulfilled at the age of 30, where he stood before the entire land of Egypt, and his siblings (as what Joseph dreamt), as a Prime Minister-second in command to the Pharaoh,where he was able to provide food for all,when the famine was widespread throughout the land.
Joseph went through 3 phases of life where God significantly lifts Joseph.
From the pits where he was left to die by his brothers,
To the prisons due to alleged charge of immorality and
Finally rising to the palace were he was put charge of many.
Bro Joshua ended by leaving the youths with a question to ponder."Are you in the pit,prison or in the palace.Makes you want to have a second thought over your standing in life doesn't it?.Analyse and act.(Remeber the 4 Ws).

We rounded of the service with a Gender Genius Challenge, a test of intellect between the males and the females.Well,guess who did well?.The results will be known this week...

Oh and did we forget,we had a cake cuting ceremony for all our July babies
So,here's wishing all the July babies inlculding our dearest and most beloved mentor and authority,Pastor Jonathan!.

Finally,we would like to take this opportunity to welcome and introdue 3 new friends who joined us for the service.
Guys,please show some love to Prakash,Shamala and Naomi yeah.

Greetings in the name of the Lord,

Jesus Lives Youth Connection's programs have been through a draft recently. We have modified our programs to meet the ever changing demands of the young in our nation. A team of 10 attended a youth camp organised by Vision Net in Taiping ,M'sia. The camp's theme was RUN. Our campers' attitute was positively changed and they decided to RUN the race for Jesus till the end.. Following their return, JLC Youth Connection held another event. It was " Bring a Friend BBQ". Our youths brought atleast one friend along with them. It was an exciting event where the youths enjoyed themselves. They played a couple of games and even danced for the Lord. The next day, we kicked start our Youth Hub @ Towner. Most of those who came for the BBQ joined us as well.. Every Sunday, our youths gather at the Youth Hub @ 3pm for a time of fellowship. Feel free to join us for a fun time!!
